EmGENDER

The Malawi Gender Justice Research Network

EmGENDER is a networking platform  to raise awareness, pool resources and exchange experiences in order to promote gender equality and gender justice in Malawi. The members of EmGENDER (through their scholarship, work or engagement) continuously explore the multiple ways in which the law has contended with sexual difference, gender-based stereotypes, and the meaning of equality in domestic and regional contexts.

EmGENDER works to strengthen, connect, coordinate and support gender justice research in Malawi. This is achieved through: capacity building; hosting a networking platform for registered members; creating & maintaining a comprehensive gender justice resource center; gender justice publishing; and, outreach activities for a new generation of gender activists across Malawi.

EmGENDER is also expected to serve as a springboard for grant applications, events and workshops (with international scholars as well), new course development / programmatic innovations, and research innovation.
